Light...
Light hearted. This is what I desire to be.

Questions for commenting on:

1) If you could learn a language; which would it be?

2) The PERFECT week long vacation - what does it look like?

3) Coke or Pepsi?

4) What do you order at BK?

5) If you could have me post on one topic - what would it be?

6) Favorite book of the Bible/favorite non-fiction book - what is it and why?

I will answer all of these questions in my next post; but only if you all answer at least one of these questions in my comments. I want to know who you people who check my blog are!! Everyone can post comments - so you have NO excuses!!!

Alright, I can see you want some comments man, so here's my little diddy:
    1. Italian, because it would probably be similar to Spanish and therefore not as stressful. And I like the sound of it.
    2. Perfect Vacation would be anywhere where the climate is moderate. I like highlands Guatemala, but Europe is pretty sweet too. Camping can also be hotness.
    3. Coke b/c Pepsi takes too ucky and sweet.
    4. I order a whopper w chesse, no onions.
    5. Although this fella is a good looking chap, and I like the earth, go for the middle pic.
    6. I like books... I can't pick.
Whelp, that's it that's all. Love ya Erica!

Well I guess I should admit that I read your blog. So here are my responses

    1. Spanish, so that I can communicate with the people I love in Cuba
    2. One with zero responsibility and the opportunity to enjoy the company of people I love
    3. Coke, definitely coke unless we're talking coke products vs. pepsi in that case I prefer dr. pepper and pepsi jazz
    4. I don't know what it is but I have always loved their chicken burger since I was a kid
    5. ummm all good topics, but everyone is talking about africa and global warming. I wanna hear your take on Smitty
    6. this will quite possibly change but currently I'm still enjoying reflecting on a book called "The Christian Mind: How should a Christian Think?" by Harry Blamires and the gospel of John is always a good read!

    Hi Erica...

I check your blog. But you know that.

    Random answers are as follows...

Fav bible book - don't have one. this summer it was the psalms
Fav non-fiction - not sure either, most profound = Henri Nouwen's Way of the Heart

Coke or Pepsi? Coke. Forget the 26 teaspoons of sugar in a medium pop.

Week vacation? A beach, water and a foreign country

    That's all for now...great post.

Language? Depends. If I actually had to try to learn it, Spanish. I'd love to be able to communicate with my dad and his buddies in Chile. If I didn't have to try, probably Mandarin or something hard like that. Asia intrigues me these days.

Post you on? I'd love to know what you feel your spiritual gifts are, and how you are using them in the day to day

BK choice? Don't like BK. McD's all the way.

    3. PEPSI!!!!!
    4. Whopper + Cheese + Onion Rings
    5. I love MWS...so ya, write about him, but what I'd really like to know is how I didn't know until today that you are Liz's sister!!
    6. Book of the bible - Galatians because I find it encouraging.
Non-Fiction? I love autobiographies...of anybody. I've read Michael Jackson, Eric Lindros, Tommy Lee, Fergie, Madonna, etc... I love reading the REAL life of people.
    I might steal this idea...hope that's ok!

Ok, so I figured since I check your blog all the time, it was about time I actually posted something. And I actually have answers to your questions!

    1. I would love to learn Italian. Why? Well first of all...hearing people get all riled (spelling??) up and rant in Italian is awesome ( my old boyfriends dad is a case in point)and I want to be able to do that if I want. Ranting in a different language would be cool. And Italian sounds cool, especially when its spoken really really fast. Plus I am hoping to plan a trip to Italy in the near future (think year and a half-ish)

    2. Perfect week long vactaion...well I so badly want to go to Italy, so that would be a pretty rockin Vay-Kay spot. The other ideal vacation would be a fishing camping trip with my family. I remember this one trip we took with some of my moms siblings. There were a whole bunch of us and we just spent the day on the lake, fishing. My uncle taught me how to fish and I caught my very first (and last)fish on that same trip. Never gonna forget that.

    3. Coke definately!!

    4. I don't usually go to BK, but when I do I get a Whopper and french fries

    5. I'm actually kind of wondering why you posted the picture of Micheal W. Smith, and what you would say about him. My curiousity has been piqued...

    6. Book of the Bible: James...1:19 "Understand this, my dear brothers and sisters: You must all be quick to listen, slow to apeak and slow to get angry. Human anger does not produce the righteousness God desires..." A lesson that I am constantly learning day to day.
Favorite non fiction book...hmmm, thats a toughie. I don't think I have just one. Although "Goodnight Moon" was a fivaorite from my chilhood and pretty much still is a favorite. Anyone who knows that book will understand.

Alright, well I said my piece. Oh Erica, my wise wise mentor how I miss you! Don't worry though, a trip to Saskatoon is in the planning process. Love you lots!
    Kristin xoxo

    4. at BK i order the long chicken sandwich with fries and rootbeer
    5. michael w. smith.. mostly because he sooo good looking in that pic.

    Ok, it's my turn...

As for languages I just don't know it all depends on who I'm talking to sometimes spanish, sometimes arabic, and sometimes swahili. If I knoew those three I would be pretty excited...

Oh man, so many places. Right now I would like to be somewhere where I could go exploring and wondering around during the day, markets and hikes and bike rides would be great and then in the evening I would relax on the beach and lay in a hammock listening to the waves. Yep, some island would do.

Well, I always pick orange juice instead of pop but of I am going to have pop it will definitely be coke.

At BK I would order a chicken sandwich, fries with mayo and ketchup and of course oj.

Hmmm, although I join the masses and would love to hear about mws, but I think I would like to hear your thoughts on global warming and why we should love the earth :)... and then perhaps what effect you think that global warming is having on Africa...

My favourite book of the bible is Ephesians because it has my favourite verses about God doing more than we hope or imagine and how great his love it... and for non-fiction, I would recommend either the Poisonwood bible or also the kite runner, both great books really...

I'm anxiously awaiting the next blog post when you finally reveal your answers! Oh this is so much fun!!!!!

Wow - I find these comments facinating! Here is my go...

1- Language. Honestly I have tried my hand at a few and I just suck - so I am gonna just say Norwegian and make my gramma proud.

2 - Vacation...anywhere that is beautiful, wet and warm. And a nearby amusement park wouldn't hurt.

    3. Diet Pepsi.

    4. I am with Sabrina on the McDs. Big Macs are my friends.

    5. Please don't get me started on an important topic. Talk about toe-jam - where the heck does it come from anyway?

    6. Book? Biblical - Hosea, or Amos or John..k' there are a few good ones out there.

Non biblical - To Kill a Mocking Bird...classic.

Nice questions, Erica, sneaky way to get comments...I like it.

so i guess i should leave my thoughts on this matter.

for the language matter right now either hindi or punjabi because of where i am going and the benfits that that would have would be crazy, so i will be working on learning these languages. first one is hopefuly going to be fulfilled.

perfect week long vacation. well because it is only a week a place where you can do everything possible in a not too rushed manner and leave fulfilled feeling that you did not miss out on anything. so probably somewhere warm, beachy etc.

coke only because their ads kick pepsi's.

what would i order, it's been a while and so i'm honestly not sure.

because i love i would love to hear your thoughts on all three. but global warming is something that i don't think i've heard you talk about too much.

favorite book of the Bible/non-fiction. right now the main book of focus is mark. however, this may change as pretty much all the Bible is pretty cool and even the boring parts have cool meaning. i have a feeling i might really like velvet elvis by rob bell, have to read it first.

so those are the thoughts right now on an early saturday morning.
    love ya

Hey Scammell, so I know that I haven't ever commented on here, but I do occassionally read it, so I will actually comment on this thing.
    1) I would love to learn German, because it's my background (well, so is Scottish ... but that's pretty much the same as what I already speak)
    2) It would be great to take a trip around Europe. Get to see a lot of interesting places, it would be awesome.
    3) Coke ... I don't like Pepsi
    4) Never have been a friend of BK, I'll go with McD's and the Crispy Chicken Burger
    5) All three would be really interesting conversations ... write about whichever one your heart desires
    6) My favourite bible book would be a toss up between Esther and Psalms (always loved those two books). Favourite non-bible book is probably "The Atonement Child" by Francine Rivers

OK, Guilty as charge! Sorry I don't always leave a comment, will try to do better!

    1. Italian, for sure! For the longest time I've been wanting to learn it, maybe soon!

    2. Somewhere in Italy on the Parma region enjoying some fine Italian cuisine!

    3. No Coke, no Pepsi! Co-op Cola, Thanks!

    4. Nothing I don't like BK!

    5. I always enjoy reading anything you have to say about your time in Colombia.

    6. Psalms

Hey Scamms - good questions! I actually really had to think about these...and you thought you were being light.

    1. So many...French, Ukranian (my mother tongue...well, my father, to be precise!), German, Spanish, Portugese, Arabic, Japanese, Chinese, and since I'd love to go back to Nigeria, Ibo & Hausa (let me know if you want me to sing you a few songs in these languages sometime...)

    2. A week isn't really long enough for a perfect vacation. But I think it would have to include a nice beach, a nice hotel, lots of culture, and no worries about how much things would cost.

    3. Milk or water

    4. First of all, BK? Really? Try McD's or Wendy's. But if I have to eat there, I get whatever the King Deal is. Or a Bacon double cheeseburger, which can never be a bad thing.

    5. He is pretty hot in that pic.

    6. Ephesians - it's straightforward and it reminds me of how much God loves me, and I like the armor of God passage.
    Non-fiction - I really don't know. It's been a very long time since I've read...isn't that sad?

Hey Erica! No, I'm not one of your creepy stalker blog readers from the States...this is only the 2nd time I'm on here. But I like your blog. Maybe I'll come by more often and leave you some comments to make you happy. Here's my answers to your quiz.

    1. I would learn Cantonese (I know, Mandarin is more practical...sigh)
    2. Okay, I have a choice between fishing, a beach and mountains? I choose beach I guess.
    3. Pepsi! Icitte au Québec ve drink ze Pep-SI!
    4. Wow. Fries?
    5. I don't really know you enough to guess what you'd say about these topics. Erm, I'll say Michael W. cause his no-tooth smile creeps me out...?
6.Fave book of Bible: I honestly don't know, but I'll say James.
Did you mean fave fictional book? Cause that's what you answered...so, yes, lots of favourites. Right now, I'm into Connie Willis.

    Have a great day, madame!

The success of love is in the loving - it is not in the result of loving. Of course it is natural in love to want the best for the other person, but whether it turns out that way or not does not determine the value of what we have done. Mother Teresa
