Pepsi, Pistachios... and Youth Advance!
These days while my wonderful Fernie is away, learning of the good things God is doing in this world - I am left alone here in our humble abode in Appleby Drive. The silence has been wonderful and deafening all at the same time. Many nights I have sat on the couch (alone) and eaten pistachios (alone) and imbibed Pepsi (alone). Don't get me wrong, my reality shows - "So You Think You Can Dance", "The Real World Denver", "The Duel", "CSI", "Grey's Anatomy" etc... have kept me company. But I miss that little typer in the corner obsessed with keeping in touch with every blogger on the face of this earth... sigh.

Youth Advance is in 5 days. Dear me... today I am moving out to Bethany so that I can be there all this week. I took a week of "vacations" from Global. It'll be awesome I think - I'm so excited to just be out at Bethany and really focus and prepare for this weekend! Woooooooooo.....

And lastly; I need people to be commenting people. So the question you should answer in my comments area is: If you won a million dollars, what would you do with it? And don't be all modest and say; "oh I'd save it..." be adventurous, be crazzzzy, seriously - what would you buy?

    1) I am coming to Youth Advance, assuming you slackers got my registration I'm looking forward to seeing y'all again.
    2) Million dollars? Alright... Well, I'd start by paying off all the debt that my family has ever incurred. Loans, Mortgages, etc. I'd buy my brother and sister-in-law a house. I'd buy a house in Winnipeg. And then I'd start giving money to a couple of Bible colleges I know that can use some renovations on their men's residences...
Oh, and I'd give a whack to various charities. Are those things crazy enough?

well, cause i know you know that i am so crazy... i'd buy a car, not a real fancy one but a good one, buy some sweet clothes cause i'm in india and there's a ton of sweet clothes. oh and i would make sure that on our team visa run we'd stay in a posh place. and i would give a ton away. i would like to give some to my family as well but a million doesn't last long these days. the crazy part... uhh maybe i would buy a lot of jelly belly, that's not a maybe i would. haha

OK, I definitely have to agree that a mil doesn't go too far these days. However, I would pay off debt (I know, boring). I would buy a nice house, but nothing that we wouldn't normally save up to buy (just a normal nice house in the Saskatoon area), I'd help out family with debt, I'd give some to the church/missions, and I would travel. All over the place. It's not about buying stuff for me. It's all about the experiences. I'd spend months at a time in each continent...poshing it up and roughing it. Although we'd probably have to find something a little above roughing it with the little one(s). Oh ya, I'd have more kids because could afford to take time off work. And of course I'd invest some.

Steph put it perfectly. I would do the same...exactly. And probably in that order. And I am not trying to be a slacker and get away with not writing my own, but its true. Thanks steph :)

well, first off I would like to say that I'm very excited to be in two consecutive posts... second, how would I spend a mill... well, I would pay off my car, buy people (family and friends) various items that they would enjoy, then I would buy or build a big ol' house. And a bunch of people could all live together and not have to worry about rent. And we would all garden and eat together and do all sorts of cool stuff in community... but that doesn't take much money, so then we would all be able to go on a 2-3 month 'breaks' to where ever we want with friends or family, but the basis is that we would be able to have a break from the house and life and just relax... then there would be all that other stuff, like buy some new clothes, go spend a week vacation at a spa, be magically fit and live happily ever after...

Well I would pay off my student loan, put a down payment on a house, give some to my family, and use the rest for Marlin to expand his business.

    take care

I'd quit this nanying job that I took so I could have money to travel aroud Europe way more than I have...and then I'd pay off my student loan, travel around Europe more instead of being stuck in Austria (which actually isn't bad at all...stuck...bad choice of word...'blessed to be placed in' maybe?), buy a laptop, and give the rest to my mom and sisters. They deserve it...love you and miss you!

i'd buy a rat farm. then i would raise as many rats as i possibly could and then mail them to all of the people above who posted cheesy responses to the million dollar question.

and then i'd send the rest to you for putting us on the spot like that.

Quote of the Week

The success of love is in the loving - it is not in the result of loving. Of course it is natural in love to want the best for the other person, but whether it turns out that way or not does not determine the value of what we have done. Mother Teresa
